The Kansas City economy benefits greatly from international trade, with $7.3 billion in goods being exported in 2018 alone.
Since 2016, the Global Ties KC organization has hosted over 1,870 visitors from 178 countries, bringing international leaders into your homes & businesses.
Global Ties KC Bringing the World to You
Global Ties KC enhances citizen diplomacy throughout Missouri and Kansas by connecting current and future leaders with you. Global Ties KC provides the link to current global issues by person-to-person contact. Through their programs, hundreds of international leaders explore Kansas City each year.
Welcoming KC
Over the last year, individuals and organizations across the area have been working together on a Greater Kansas City Welcoming Plan with the goal of making the bi-state region more inclusive for immigrants, refugees and other underserved populations. In developing the plan, the Welcoming KC steering committee used tools and processes developed by Welcoming America, a national organization that assists nonprofit and governmental entities interested in transforming their communities into more welcoming places.

To facilitate trade, lasting country-to-country and city-to-city connections, and serve as the official face of the region, a number of agencies and organizations serve to sustain international connections.
