US foreign policy in South & Central Asia involves relations with the countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Key topics include political settlement in Afghanistan, cooperation with Pakistan, sustaining sovereignty in Central Asia, air quality, and maintaining peaceful relations between people of all countries. India, our main democratic ally, is a key partner is promoting these initiatives throughout the region.
Kansas City Ties

There is a strong Indian community in Kansas City, propelled by the Indian Association of Kansas City (www.iakc.org). Additionally, Kansas City welcomed hundreds of refugees from Afghanistan in 2021.
